Croteau Family Crest

COME AND ENJOY FAMILY
Several family members, among them Phil Demers, Ed Lemay and Patti Boriin, have suggested a family potluck picnic for summer of 2013. Since we survived the “alleged” Mayan prophecy for the December 21, 2012 catastrophe, let’s do it!! Invitation is open to Rice Lake and beyond Crotteau/Demers too. Esko MN(a few miles from Cloquet, MN for any out of towners who may attend).

The Esko Park has been reserved for Sunday, July 21, 2013, from noon to 5 PM. We can mingle a bit and schedule the potluck picnic for 1 PM. The Pavilion is large, has a great kitchen and both men’s and women’s bathrooms. It is maintained by the Esko Lion’s Club, so we will collect an offering from all adults (18 & up) as a donation to the Lion’s. There is lots of space for kids to play, and swings and slides for them too.

We must ALL clean up at the end and split up the garbage to take home with us. If memory serves, the last family picnic in this area was summer 2007. Larry Johnson was working on his book which documents the Crotteau family. Many of the cousins who attended that picnic are no longer with us. Remember-no alcohol permitted. Willing to provide some entertainment? Let us know.

Time is racing by. These infrequent gatherings are often the only chance cousins have to get together and visit. If you are able, please take advantage of this opportunity to reconnect with family. Who knows when we will gather together again! Our three ancestral family heads (Joseph, Roseanna, and Louis) were siblings who lit out from Rice Lake, Wisconsin to pursue work, and ended up in Cloquet.

Brothers Pete and Henry Crotteau, and sister Zelfreda Crotteau Demers, lived out their lives in Rice Lake. Brother Arthur Crotteau moved to Michigan, sister Mathilda Crotteau Belanger moved to Montreal, Canada, and sister Marie Crotteau Langlois moved to Calgary, Canada. We have a BIG family. Come to the picnic and learn more about it. It be nice to see you, ey!! Inform all the relatives they are welcome.

Sunday, July 21, 2013, from noon to 5 PM, at Esko Park. This is POTLUCK, so bring a dish for the table. Everyone knows how this family can cook!! Family picture boards from olden days, and old albums or memorabilia, would be fantastic. Let’s bring family history to life for younger family members!
